The COVIDSCAPES linguistic landscape analysis programme is “celebrating” its first pandemic anniversary. For this occasion, Matthieu Louis-Jean, whose internship ends on the 1st of June, concocted a short presentation clip that you can find below.

Pont du Carrousel, Paris, le 16/02/2021

Initially conceived as a participatory research programme under the GRIP’s first Axis ‘Global Urbanities’, COVIDSCAPES is now being deployed as a training-through-research tool, in a collaboration initiated with the CRI/Institut des Défis in march 2020. While all the elements intended to train master’s and doctoral students are the subject of a brief presentation on the GRIP website, those interested in university pedagogy can follow the program’s progress regularly updated, among the winning projects of U-Lab/Institut des Défis.

An infographic also shows all the tasks and training sequences currently being created, which should be implemented in October 2021 on a dedicated bilingual website, centralising the research and training aspects of COVIDSCAPES.

Various posts on the GRIP’s blog will follow soon to report the main results drawn from the ongoing analysis of the 1300 photos collected this first year of the pandemic (including 564 provided by students from the University of Paris).
