Études en Asie Orientale

Sous l’intitulé ci-dessus, l’UFR LCAO introduit en 2021-2022 un programme complémentaire de Master, qui s’adosse aux parcours existants et vise à consolider les compétences plurilingues et scientifiques des étudiants. L’objectif est à la fois de renforcer la dimension internationale de la formation et sa professionnalisation. Cécile Sakai (cecile.sakai@u-paris.fr) et Gilles Guiheux (gilles.guiheux@u-paris.fr) sont responsables du programme.

Quatre dispositifs sont mis en place dès la rentrée 2021 :

Certains séminaires de M1 et de M2 sont donnés entièrement ou partiellement en langue anglaise.
Un cycle de conférences de professeurs invités étrangers, Current Researches on Contemporary Asia est mis en place. Spécialistes de l’Asie de réputation internationale, des intervenants nord-américains, européens et d’Asie participent à ce nouveau cycle. Les interventions ont lieu certains vendredis de 18h à 19h30. La diffusion sera en mode hybride : en présentiel (salle à confirmer) pour tous les étudiants en Master 2 (tous parcours) et doctorants, et en format zoom pour les étudiants de Master 1 et de Licence 3 intéressés.

Un séminaire ponctuel de méthodologie intitulé Publications et carrières en études asiatiques dans le monde anglophone est organisé le vendredi 19 novembre 15h30-18h30 (682 C, Grands Moulins). Ce séminaire est obligatoire pour les étudiants en M2 Recherche des 4 sections, et fortement recommandé pour les doctorants, ainsi que pour les M1 qui se destineraient à un M2 R. Le séminaire sera conjointement animé par Thomas Garcin, Justine Guichard et Gilles Guiheux.
Enfin, un dispositif de bourses entrantes pour les étudiants internationaux est mis en place dans le cadre du programme Smarts Up de Université Paris Cité (voir pour tout renseignement : https://u-paris.fr/smarts-up-appel-a-candidatures-bourses-de-mobilite-pour-les-etudiants-internationaux-en-master/). Quelques bourses sortantes de terrain, de format court (1 à 2 mois) devraient être proposées, sous condition, pour l’été 2022 aux étudiants en M2 Recherche. Des précisions seront apportées sur cette page en janvier 2022.

Paris Graduate School of East Asian Studies

UFR LCAO is introducing in 2021-2022 a complementary Master’s program, which is based on the existing courses and aims to consolidate the multilingual and scientific skills of students. The objective is to strengthen the international dimension of the training and its professionalization. Four mechanisms will be proposed as of the beginning of the 2021 academic year :

Some M1 and M2 seminars are given entirely or partially in English.

A series of lectures by foreign guest professors, Current Researches on Contemporary Asia, has been set up. Internationally renowned Asia specialists, North American, European and Asian speakers participate in this new cycle. The lectures will take place on certain Fridays from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. The broadcasting will be in hybrid mode: in person (room to be confirmed) for all Master 2 students (all courses) and doctoral students, and in zoom format for interested Master 1 and Bachelor 3 students.

A methodology seminar entitled Publications and Careers in Asian Studies in the English-speaking World is organized on Friday, November 19, 3:30-6:30 pm (682 C, Grands Moulins). This seminar is compulsory for M2 Research students in all four sections, and strongly recommended for doctoral students, as well as for M1 students who are preparing for an M2 Research. The seminar will be jointly led by Thomas Garcin, Justine Guichard and Gilles Guiheux.
Finally, an incoming scholarship program for international students has been set up within the framework of the Smarts Up program of the University of Paris (see https://u-paris.fr/smarts-up-appel-a-candidatures-bourses-de-mobilite-pour-les-etudiants-internationaux-en-master/ for more information). A few short (1 to 2 months) outgoing field grants should be offered, under certain conditions, for the summer of 2022 to students in M2 Research. More details will be provided on this page in January 2022.
