Conditions for obtaining the Master

No course can be chosen and validated twice.

All the elements (courses, internships, theses) mentioned in the syllabus must be validated. In addition, it is important to pay attention to the requirements in terms of basic linguistics courses (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics). These are divided into three levels: green (beginner), blue (intermediate) and red (advanced). Depending on the course, students must have completed a certain number of these courses at the highest level (red).

  • Theoretical and Experimental Linguistics” (LTE) program: at least two red courses and three blue courses validated at the end of the Master’s program.
  • Computational Linguistics” (LI): no requirements.
  • Linguistics applied to the Didactics of French as a Foreign Language (LADFLE): no constraints for the professional track, at least one red course for the research track.
  • East Asian Linguistics and Didactics of French as a Foreign Language” (LAOFLE): no constraints.
  • Phonetics and Phonology” program (Ph&Ph): no additional constraints compared to the model. green and blue courses: orientation modalities at the entrance to M1

For the fundamental disciplines of the core curriculum (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics/pragmatics), two types of courses are offered: blue courses are intended for students who have already had the opportunity to take courses in the discipline in question with a formal orientation. Green courses are offered to students who have not had sufficient exposure to the discipline.

The choice between green and blue courses in the first year core curriculum will be determined as follows

  • Phonetics & Phonology :
    • Students coming from the L3 SdL degree of the University of Paris – Campus Grands Moulins (ex Paris Diderot) will take one of the blue courses.
    • For the others, orientation depends on a test or an interview organized the first week.
  • morphology:
    • Students coming from the L3 SdL degree of the University of Paris – Campus Grands Moulins (ex Paris Diderot) go to the blue course.
    •  For the others, the orientation depends on a test organized the first week.
  • syntax:
    • Students coming from the L3 SdL degree of the University of Paris – Campus Grands Moulins (ex Paris Diderot) go to one of the blue courses.
    • For the others, orientation depends on a test organized the first week.
  • semantics:
