The EIDD Council is composed of 12 external members, divided as follows:
- 2 individuals appointed in a personal capacity by the members of the EIDD Council;
- 4 individuals appointed by their respective affiliated institutions, namely:
– One representative from the Île-de-France Region
– One representative from the City of Paris
– One representative from the National Council of Engineers and Scientists of France (IESF)
– One representative from the Conference of Directors of French Engineering Schools (Cdefi) - 1 representative from an employer organization;
- 5 representatives from partner companies of the School.
Aside from those appointed by their institutions, all other external members are nominated by the EIDD Management Council on the proposal of the Director of EIDD.
The term of office for external members is four years.
The EIDD Council meets three times a year and contributes in the following areas
• Proposing the appointment of the Director of EIDD;
• Electing the Deputy Director;
• Being informed of official acts signed by the Director within their delegated powers;
• Approving the creation of ad hoc committees, on the proposal of the Director;
• Proposing the School’s academic and scientific orientations and submits them to the Faculty bodies;
• Deciding on the allocation of resources made available to EIDD;
• Voting on the proposed EIDD budget and its distribution, as submitted by the Director;
• Approving activity reports from the School’s consultative bodies;
• Proposing professional continuing education initiatives (degree and certificate programs);
• Being consulted on recruitment matters related to the School;
• Giving his/her opinion on contracts and agreements involving the School;
• Electing its Chair, for a renewable three-year term, from among the external members;
• Being consulted on any matter relevant to the functioning of the School, including the appointment of specialty coordinators and the head of the preparatory cycle.
The EIDD Advisory Board includes at least 6 external members and meets once per year. Its main roles include:
- Ensuring alignment between training programs and job market needs, and anticipating future developments;
• Contributing to the development of general principles related to knowledge assessment;
• Giving feedback on cooperation and training agreements with public or private, national or international institutions;
• Making recommendations regarding specialized course content and workplace-specific teaching methods;
• Anticipating job market trends and career opportunities;
• Contributing to the School’s career observatory and the definition of the skills reference framework;
• Being informed about the resources allocated to the School.
The election of external members aims to achieve gender parity. The term of office is four years. Applications must include a curriculum vitae and/or a statement of intent, as well as a declaration of no conflict of interest ( déclaration de non conflit d’intérêts). Each document must not exceed two pages (A4, double-sided).
