Engineer’s First Job: Hopes and Realities.
In collaboration with the IESF, Université Paris Cité and EIDD alumni, EIDD organised a conference on the theme of professional integration on 11 March 2021.
Since its first edition in 2013, National Engineering Days (JNI) has aimed to promote and enhance the value of the engineering profession by encouraging innovation, industry and, more generally, business.
According to the survey on the integration of graduates of the “Grandes Ecoles” conducted by the CGE, in France the rate of graduates in professional activity has fallen from 83% in 2016 to 71.9% in 2019. This decrease in the number of graduates in the job market is correlated with the increase in the number of engineers looking for work (2.3% in 2016 and 7.8% in 2019 according to the CGE).
The objective of this conference is to help future engineers know how they can create opportunities to enter professional life more easily.
A total of 20 speakers highlighted the training of engineers and their preparation for their first job, recruitment, management and RSE of young engineers during presentations and round tables. There were also testimonies on the integration in an SME and in a large company that elicited many questions from the future engineers.
