The survey «First job 2022» on the professional integration of young graduates of the EIDD in 2022 was carried out by the Junior EIDD Conseil. The 2022 class has 74 graduates, divided according to specialties:
Engineering: 18 graduates
Materials and Nanotechnologies: 23 graduates
Embedded computer systems: 21 graduates
Bioinformatics: 12 graduates

1. Becoming a Graduate
The survey clearly shows that, after the years of slowdown due to the pandemic, the job market is again very buoyant for young engineers. The integration of EIDD graduates is increasing strongly, in line with national results, which confirms the growing recognition of EIDD in the socio-economic world.
Six months after graduation, 76% of students are on a permanent/ fixed-term contract, the CDI being by far the most recurrent, 9% have decided to pursue a thesis, often backed by a CIFRE contract, 7% are pursuing master’s degrees specialized in the fields of finance, eco-responsible housing, embedded systems for space.

These data cover all 2022 EIDD graduates. Each specialty of the school has its specificities, which also appear in the statistics on the future of graduates, with a greater share of theses in Materials and Nanotechnologies, and a predominant share of permanent contracts in embedded computer systems.

2. Business Lines and Duties
Although in relative decline compared to previous years, the services sector remains the largest employer of young graduates, and offers assignments in data science, software development, consulting and expertise, embedded computing, charge of business. In the case of previous promotions, it was found that a first job in service companies was a good springboard for rapid integration with a major contractor, himself a client of these service companies.
Research is an essential outlet, and is naturally part of the ecosystem of EIDD, internal school of a large intensive research university like Université Paris Cité. This includes graduates in Materials and Nanotechnology and Bioinformatics.
The aeronautical/space sector is predominant in the High Tech industries and hires graduates including Engineering Physics and Embedded Computer Systems.
It is also important to note that the EIDD saw for the first time the medical sector as the sector of activity of its graduates in Bioinformatics. Reports on the skills needed in the medical sector point to growth in the share of EIDD graduates employed in this sector in the coming years. The Medicen certification of this specialty will help to make the school known in this sector.
It should be noted that new sectors such as luxury, finance, media appeared in 2022.
The missions offered for the four specialties concern R&D and consulting, which account for 31% of jobs. Computer science, software development and embedded computing is not surprising, the most dynamic sector, graduates usually having several contract offers, even before their graduation.

3. Business Size and Compensation Level
The breakdown by size of enterprise is eloquent and demonstrates the progress of the school’s image in the socio-economic world. Large industrial groups account for half of the positions offered to our young graduates, while smaller companies, mid-sized companies, SMEs and small businesses, represent 30% of the positions filled.

The average gross annual salary (without bonus) is 39,800 €. There is no significant gender gap.
