This anthology brings together texts that have become classics in the social sciences, because they were written by researchers and professors “outside the West” who questioned the multiple facets of the domination of North American and European social sciences.

The authors of these texts are today reference authors in the social sciences and it is difficult to imagine the shock that some of these reflections, which for many of us are today self-evident, could have caused. Stéphane Dufoix and Marcelo Rosa have brought together several of these essential texts, which have become reference documents, very few of which have been translated into French or are difficult to access.
