The Global Research Institute of Paris (GRIP) is an Interdisciplinary Initiative funded by the IdEx programme of the University of Paris that integrates both Global Studies and more largely Global research in the social sciences and humanities, particularly working on North-South relations.

Research axes

Axe 1 : Global urbanities

To analyse the rise of urban diversity and cosmopolitanism, particularly in relation to the growing function of receiving migrants and people with various forms of mobility

Axe 2 : Circulations

The dynamics of globalization are investigated from the perspective of the circulation of people, practices, aesthetics as well as artefacts, knowledge and norms.

Axe 3 : Technologies, markets and vulnerabilities

Economic globalisation and technological development are the source of multiple forms of vulnerability. We propose to analyse the role of this techno-market dynamic as the weakening of modes of existence.
