Daniel Hugo Villabicencio Carbajal has a degree in Industrial Sociology from the University of Lyon, France (June 1989).

He has been a research professor at UAM-Xochimilco since 1987. He teaches in the Master's degree in Economics, Management and Innovation Policies. He teaches in the doctorates in social sciences and economics.

His areas of specialisation are: sociology of innovation; science, technology and innovation policies; economic sociology.
