As part of the student engagement, the participation in this sponsorship program is recognized, for each student of University Paris Cité who commits to it, as a Teaching Unit (EU). It is validated by the allocation of 3 ECTS credits.
How to apply
There are two options for participating :
Voluntarily
As part of a student engagement (free or optional EU)
To register, you must :
Be registered at Université Paris Cité
Commit to sponsoring students year round (even if your free EU is valid for one semester, you will then have to volunteer).
Buddy program missions
The assistant is responsible for supervising a group of up to 5 foreign students.
This buddy program consists of a set of services :
- Information on the functioning of the university and the various administrative services (visit of the campus, location of services and UFRs,…) ;
- Pedagogical support (course registration, timetable, methodology,…) ;
- Logistical support (student card, residence card, housing allowances, etc.) ;
- Communication and supervision on the various cultural events organized on or off campus (visits to museums, Parisian historic sites, etc.).
Validation of student engagement
The validation of this EU depends on the following conditions :
- Evaluation of practical work ;
- Writing of a summary report, validated by one or more teachers who are members of the EU jury ;
- The validation is pronounced in view of the attestation and the report. The student is declared “Admitted” or “Adjourned”. No marks are assigned for this validation.
You must provide the BIS before mid-September with your completed student engagement file in the “project” section.
The project must be :
- Practical ;
- Achievable over 30 hours ;
- Focused on a specific theme (culture, art, gastronomy, photography…).
The International Relations Office will reserve the right to interview interested parties to present their projects.
Please note : places for the validation of the free EU are limited, so it is advisable to ask the BIS early in the year.

Disclaimer
If the commitment is interrupted by the assistant, the latter must then send a letter to the International Relations Office (BIS) indicating the reason for the breach of the commitment and the end date of the commitment.
