SAVE THE DATE : 26 and 27 November -24 hours of the same world

Grip is celebrating its fourth year, and to do so, it invites you to a unique moment of off-center, uninterrupted reflection and dialogue around a 24-hour program. On November 26 and 27 2024, the 24h- Grip Marathon will take place “24 hours of the same world. What has changed with globalization in the last 25 years?” in partnership with Civic City.

Over the past four years, Grip has set itself the task of analyzing the complexity and multidimensionality of the global landscape and the forces that make it up. To do so, it has worked to strengthen the core of its scientific project by promoting and supporting empirical research at different scales, in order to grasp the new global constraints weighing on circulations, diffusions and propagations.

The 24-hour Grip Marathon will enable us to organize dialogues and discussions with researchers from all over the world, so that together we can analyze the phenomenon of globalization through conversations, empirical material and everyday experiences.

Built in collaboration with partners from different horizons, these 24 hours are an opportunity to reflect collectively on the roles and challenges of globalization in the face of the complexity of contemporary (and past) realities, and its importance in projecting the future of our societies. The question will go round the world, insofar as speakers from many different locations will be invited to answer this common question.

Live and online from France, India, Qatar, Nepal, Madagascar, Haiti, Cuba, Argentina, Brazil, South Africa, Greece, Morocco, Tunisia, Canada, Vietnam, Colombia, Mexico, China, Switzerland, Benin, Mali… these 24 hours of sharing and reflection are intended to be international in their openness to the world as well as in the use of languages: English, Spanish and French will be the main languages of the interventions, but any other language is welcome.

The event will take place on November 26 and 27, 2024, live from the Réfectoire des Cordeliers in Paris, and online: the event will be broadcast live on Facebook (Civic City feed) and YouTube (Grip channel). The face-to-face and connecting details will be posted in the Grip and Civic City website.
