The Department of Geography, History Economics and Societal Studies (GHES) is composed of three sections, namely the Geography Unit, the History Unit and the Economics Unit. The Department has seven research laboratories and two scientific and technological platforms.

Since their inception, the three units have formed their own unique identities based on their respective disciplines, embraced multidisciplinary approaches, and have continued to explore groundbreaking research areas.
