Mathieu Quet is responsible for GRIP’s axis 3 “Technologies, market and vulnerabilities”. A sociologist of science and technology, his research focuses on the circulation of pharmaceuticals in developing countries. Mathieu has investigated the debates surrounding ‘fake medicines’, and more recently he has begun a project on the use of animal life in the pharmaceutical industry, based on a survey conducted in several countries in the Indian Ocean. More generally, Mathieu has been interested for some years in the production of market infrastructures in a development context, and in the convergence of market and technological logics, with the Indian Ocean as his area of investigation. Mathieu is particularly interested in the role of logistics as a central tool of techno-market government.
