ValoCité
Presentation
Created within the national framework of University Innovation Hubs (PUI), ValoCité embodies the innovative spirit of Paris Cité University, its co-founders and partners. Its goal is to accelerate the transformation of research findings into solutions, start-ups and public goods for the benefit of the entire socio-economic ecosystem.
As a beneficiary of funds from the France 2030 investment plan, ValoCité has received a €6 million grant over four years and aims to double the number of start-ups emerging from its laboratories, increase the number of partnership research contracts by 50% and promote new ways of interacting with the socio-economic world to have a positive impact on society and strengthen its regional roots.
Its roadmap is based on structural actions:
- Acculturating communities to innovation ;
- Strengthening intellectual property ;
- Supporting and de-risking innovations ;
- Strengthening bridges to the socio-economic world, data-driven management.
The aim is to do more, better and together, serving both the 8,000 researchers and research teachers on the site and the region and society as a whole.
Governance
ValoCité’s governance is based on strategic coordination between the co-founders, with effective committee procedures and autonomy granted to stakeholders.
A Strategic Steering Committee provides an external and regional perspective on innovation. The overall aim is to achieve collaborative, agile and transparent governance, with a focus on promoting and transferring technology.
