The Eiffel scholarship programme launched by France’s Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs is now open. The programme enables international students to benefit from a mobility grant and pursue courses at the master’s and doctorate levels. Submit your applications before November 11th, 2024.
The Eiffel scholarship programme enables top international applicants to benefit from financial support, allowing them to enrol in Master degree and PhD programmes.
The main fields of studies covered by the Eiffel scholarships are:
Science and technology
- Biology and health
- Ecological transition
- Mathematics and digital sciences
- Engineering sciences
Humanities and Social sciences
- History, French language and civilisation
- Law Political science
- Economics and management
Application Calendar
• Application submission for Université Paris Cité* is from 18/10/2024 to 11/11/2024 23h59 (Paris time).
Please note this date differs from the date indicated on the Campus France website (January 8th, 2025) to allow for the preparation of selected applications.
• The application updates from Université Paris Cité are from December 2nd and December 6th.
Candidates pre-selected by Université Paris Cité will be contacted by email during that week. If you are not contacted by this date, this means that Université Paris Cité has not selected your application for the Eiffel scholarship
• The final results announced by Campus France are via e-mail (for pre-selected students by Université Paris Cité only) as of the second week of April 2025 on the Campus France website.
* Please note: Université Paris Cité accepts, supports and submits your application to Campus France.
Eligibility criteria
Master’s level
• International students aged 27 or under (born after March 31st 1997) who are not studying in France at the time of their application
• Must be applying to the Eiffel scholarship for the first time (Eiffel scholarship cannot be combined with another French government scholarship)
Please note students currently living in France are no longer eligible for the scholarship.
PhD level
• International PhD students aged 32 or under (born after March 31st 1992) for the first year of a co-supervised or co-directed thesis
• Must be applying for the first time for a PhD with the Eiffel scholarship (which cannot be combined with another French government scholarship).
Scholarship Duration
Master Programme
The Eiffel scholarship is given for a period of :
- 12 months maximum for enrolment in Master 2
- 24 months maximum for enrolment in Master 1
- 36 months for an engineering degree
PhD Programme
The Eiffel scholarship is given for 12 months to 36 months (divisible into stays of at least 6 months with justification and following a decision by the commission.
Scholarship amount
• PhD level: monthly allowance of €1,800
• Master’s level: monthly allowance of €1,181

The Head International Relations office centralises all applications and forwards them to Campus France within the deadlines.

Please note that applications that will not be reviewed if they are:
– Incomplete
– Sent after the deadline
– Do not comply with the procedure
Candidates pre-selected by Université Paris Cité will be contacted by e-mail before December 6th 2024. If you are not contacted after this date, it means that Université Paris Cité has not short-listed your application for the Eiffel scholarship
