The Circle U.’lympics project, supported by the Circle U. European university alliance and organised by Université Paris Cité’s Sports Science Department (STAPS), King’s College London and the University of Aarhus, offers a series of online and face-to-face events from January to April 2024, under the theme of the Olympic Games.

Circle U. European university alliance: Université Paris Cité, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, King’s College, London, UCLouvain, University of Oslo, Aarhus University, University of Belgrade, University of Pisa and University of Vienna
The Circle U.’LYMPICS project aims to offer a 360-degree interdisciplinary vision of the Olympic Games and to share research within the Circle U. European University alliance. The meetings are an opportunity for students and researchers to share their exchange research topics and expertise related to sports science and Olympism. Whether exploring the origins of the Games, understanding the ecological impact of organizing an international competition or examining genetic influences in sport and physical performance, the Circle U.’LYMPICS conferences will cover broad range of subjects!
A Two-phase Programme
During the first phase, web-conferences will take place once a month in hybrid form, from January to April 2024. Athletes, researchers and doctoral students from Circle U.’s 9 partner universities will discuss the themes of sports science and Olympism, with the aim to enhance the Olympic culture of our students and all those taking part in these events.
In a second phase, meetings will be held from April 22 to 26, 2024 at Université Paris Cité’s Sports Science Department (STAPS). The programme will include workshops/conferences/debates, visits and sporting challenges for students, as well as film screenings. The event will bring together both students from across the Circle U. alliance and Université Paris Cité.
