As part of the International Day of Human Fraternity, Université Paris Cité is organising a unique concert to reaffirm its commitment to inclusion and intercultural dialogue. This symbolic moment is also an opportunity to highlight the initiatives that encourage student solidarity and promote exchange within the university community.
Music Knows No Borders: an intercultural concert to celebrate solidarity
Université Paris Cité is organising the Music Knows No Borders concert, a festive evening dedicated to welcoming and integrating international students, and open to the entire student community. The event will be held on February 4, 2026, at the Réfectoire des Cordeliers.
The evening will celebrate cultural diversity through music and dance, creating a space for discovery and exchange. Three groups with complementary styles will invite the audience on a musical journey:
- Malick Diaw blends traditional melodies and contemporary sounds drawing on a vibrant Afro-Manding heritage
- Rodinha brings Brazilian samba rhythms to the stage
- Hind Kandaka Band combines traditional Sudanese rhythms (toum-toum, merdoum, serra) with African and Western influences
To complete the experience, the evening will feature live entertainment, while Meet My Mama will be offering homemade and original beverages.
Participation is free of charge upon registration.
The Buddy System: a program promoting solidarity
Solidarity and mutual support are lived out every day at UPCité. That is why the university encourages participation in the Buddy System, a mentoring programme pairing international students with volunteer students from UPCité.
The Buddy System offers participants the opportunity to:
- facilitate the welcome and integration of international students
- experience intercultural exchange
- share experiences, advice and everyday student life
Become a mentor or mentee and help build a more supportive university!
Together, let us celebrate student solidarity through mutual support and sharing. May this day reflect a university that is open, united and firmly committed to human values.
