Teachers and students from the Latin American alliance for the Capacity Building in Advanced Physics “LA-CoNGA physics” are meeting in Bucaramanga, Colombia, from December 6th to 8th 2021. They will review the international pedagogical experience and show the results of its first cohort. Coordinated by Université Paris Cité, the project is funded by the European Commission’s Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
LA-CoNGA physics is an international ERASMUS+ project funded by the Executive Agency for Education, Audiovisual and Culture of the European Commission. The project aims to design and develop comprehensive training in Advanced Physics, through an international alliance between eight Latin American universities and three universities from Europe, as well as various national and international research centers, academic and industrial partners.
This meeting brings together members and coordinators from the main partner countries: Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, France and Germany, and is the first event to be held in-person, since the beginning of the project in January 2020.
An environment fostering international collaboration
LA-CoNGA physics International Network School, is taking place at the Universidad Industrial de Santander, Colombia. The agenda focuses on topics such as the future of advanced physics, notably particular particle physics and complex systems as well as professional opportunities within academia or industry in the Latin American region. The students of the first cohort in collaboration with the research community will present the results of the internships they carried out in international laboratories. The activities can be followed on YouTube.
“This second year will focus on building the interconnected laboratories, citizen science projects and a general update of theoretical courses in advanced physics.”
