Université Paris Cité reaffirms its commitment to combating discrimination related to sexual orientation and gender identity. Through its Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Office, it implements concrete actions in prevention, support and training for the entire university community.
Enhanced support for LGBTI+ people
The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Office is actively engaged in combating homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and intersexphobia. It works to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment for study and work. In this context, several measures have been introduced:
Support for students in the process of changing their preferred first name, in order to better reflect their gender identity. A reporting system enabling members of the community to report any situation involving harassment, violence or discrimination: signalement@u-paris.fr.
These measures are designed to ensure that reported situations are handled promptly and in a structured way, within a confidential and secure framework.
An ambitious training policy
Since 2021, Université Paris Cité has offered the open elective course “Equalities,” available to the entire student community. This course is a key tool for raising awareness and developing skills on equality-related issues.
The course addresses, through a cross-disciplinary approach, topics such as gender identity, sexual and romantic orientation, as well as LGBT+phobias. It helps strengthen understanding of the mechanisms of discrimination and promotes a shared culture of inclusion.
Through these combined actions involving support, reporting and training, Université Paris Cité is building a comprehensive equality policy aimed at safeguarding everyone’s rights and fostering an inclusive university environment.
