On November 26, 2025, Antoine Kouchner, Vice-President for International Relations at Université Paris Cité, visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University. During this visit, Université Paris Cité and Shanghai Jiao Tong University officially signed a cooperation agreement and a mobility agreement, paving the way for the development of academic and scientific exchanges across all disciplines. This initiative reflects the continuation of a shared vision for international collaboration. In April 2025, a delegation from Université Paris Cité had been welcomed by Shanghai Jiao Tong University as part of the celebrations of thirty years of cooperation in the medical field.
A Long-Standing Partnership in Medicine
Medicine lies at the heart of the partnership between Université Paris Cité and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Over the years, the two institutions have jointly developed initiatives such as the Francophone Medical Training Program and the Master’s in Health, which have trained several generations of Chinese students, as well as the creation of the Sino-French Medical School at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. These initiatives have fostered ongoing dialogue between the two education systems, encouraged exchanges of medical practices between France and China, and supported joint research projects contributing to progress in medical science.
Today, this cooperation has been expanded to all disciplines and aims to diversify initiatives that promote exchanges and collaborations in education and research. More recently, Université Paris Cité and Shanghai Jiao Tong University co-organized the 2025 edition of “Ma thèse en 3 minutes chrono“, held in Shanghai at the initiative and under the high patronage of the Embassy of France in China.
