Université Paris Cité and the University of Toronto signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed to foster collaborations in education and research. The two institutions agree to develop joint activities to address issues of mutual interest, focusing initially on the health field.
University of Toronto
This agreement falls within the scope of the international strategy put in place at Université Paris Cité for partnerships at the institutional level, and in continuity of Christine Clerici’s visit to Canada last October. It is aligned with the multi-year cooperation between France and Canada that was recently inaugurated by the Joint Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation on April 24, 2023 in Ottawa, during France’s official visit to Canada. The University of Toronto and Université Paris Cité confirm their willingness to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding on education and research collaborations.
The Memorandum of Understanding covers the following areas of cooperation and activities:
- Joint research collaborations, and joint publication of scientific papers and educational materials resulting from the collaborations within programme cooperation
- Joint courses, graduate and undergraduate student mobility such as internships, study abroad, exchange, and fellowships
- Exchange of faculty, trainees and staff as appropriate
- Participation in, and co-hosting of lectures, meetings, seminars, symposia and conferences
- Exchange of materials, publications and other information, within limits of legal rules and regulations
- Joint application for funding for collaborative projects from relevant funding agencies
- Collaboration in other areas that foster research and educational cooperation
According to Antoine Cazé, Vice-President of Strategy and International Relations at Université Paris Cité, “This agreement strengthens the existing ties between some of the faculties of our two universities. It positions Université Paris Cité as an active participant in the extensive collaboration between France and Canada.”
