The first part of the lecture will explain the origins and development of Peace Studies in Europe since the end of WWII. It will also cover the theoretical foundations of the discipline as well as peace-related practices in Europe during the Cold War. The second part of the lecture will focus on the wars that occurred in the Balkans in the 1990s, known as the Yugoslav Wars, and their consequences for the Balkans and Europe.
