Since 2019, the Social Department of the Université Paris Cité has been supporting students in difficulty.

These students can benefit from the help of the university’s social workers, through the provision of support and social actions.

As more and more students find themselves in precarious situations, the Université Paris Cité is doing its utmost to make up for these shortcomings by creating actions aimed at students.

The food distributions organized by the Student Life Department are just one of the initiatives put in place to enable students to have access to quality food without compromising their tight budgets.

In partnership with ValBio, a professional integration organization, organic vegetable baskets are distributed to students on scholarships who have registered with our department beforehand. These distributions take place throughout the year at 4 Université Paris Cité sites, regardless of the student’s home campus:

It responds through mutual aid, conviviality and solidarity. As a neighbor of the Grands Moulins Campus, the association also responds to this commitment to proximity and neighborhood solidarity.

With their foodtruck, a well-decorated, quality catering truck, they help families, students and homeless people to overcome food insecurity, with varied and balanced menus.

Meals are prepared on a voluntary basis by local residents in the association’s kitchen workshops, using foodstuffs collected from unsold foodstuffs.

Offering a free food distribution service to around a hundred students every month is fully in line with the Student Life Department’s social aid mission.
