This first edition of the Welcome Week programme was held over 5 days; international students of Université Paris Cité had the opportunity to meet, exchange and attend workshops, conferences, animations, shows, games… to celebrate international, Europe and cultural diversity.

The Welcome Week is really to make students feel safe and at home at our university and to give them the occasion to meet all the actors, their professors, their fellow students as well as the administrative staff with whom they will be working with all along the year. So it’s a festive moment I would say, a moment of welcome is like a ritual, traditional. You have to welcome people to make them feel at home and that’s what we are doing with the Welcome Week.”

Antoine Cazé, Vice-Président Europe/Vice-President for European Affairs, Professeur Université Paris Cité, Department of English & American Studies

Our students, coming from all over the world with more than 140 different nationalities, were thrilled to have attended the programme. They had the opportunity to create and to bond with their classmates by discovering their campus: the city of Paris! A rally was organised, giving them the chance to explore Paris through a life-size game, imagined and staged by the company “Ma Langue au Chat”. The day ended with a cocktail, a moment of conviviality and sharing for all our participants!
